The visual database GUI for MongoDB and SQL

A visual database management tool and client for MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite and 30+ more databases.

A visual workspace for developers and teams

VisuaLeaf is a desktop database client for Windows, macOS and Linux that supports 36 databases, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MySQL.

Visual Schema Designer

Draw ER diagrams from your SQL tables' foreign keys, or from what MongoDB actually stores in each collection. It also works the other way: design a schema on the canvas, hit Materialize, and the tables or collections are created for you.

Data Transfer

Copy, export and import between MongoDB, SQL databases and files, and keep it all organised. Your tasks sit in folders beside the one you're working on, with its jobs, its schedule and every run it has made, so you can see at a glance what ran, what failed and why.

Split Panel Views

Put two documents side by side and read them against each other instead of switching tabs. Panels arrange however suits the comparison, and scrolling stays in sync so the same field stays level in both.

Query Profiler

A query that was quick on ten thousand documents can crawl on ten million. The profiler watches them as they run, shows which ones are costing you and why, and suggests the index that would settle it.

Data Compare

Compare two MongoDB collections or SQL tables, or two whole databases, and see exactly what differs: the rows, and the structure behind them. Columns, keys, indexes, checks and triggers are listed side by side, and a script preview shows every change before you sync, in either direction.

Fast on large MongoDB collections and SQL tables

Most database tools are fine until the data is real. VisuaLeaf is built for the point where collections and tables get large, documents get heavy, and other database GUIs start to fall over.

Built for speed

Fifty thousand documents open in seconds and scroll without a stutter. The grid took a year of optimisation on its own, and we have optimised the data retrieval process further still, so you spend less time waiting on your data.

Handle gigabytes of data

Documents at MongoDB's 16 MB ceiling, deeply nested objects, huge arrays, mixed types in the same field, binary blobs. We loaded 100 documents at that ceiling, 1.6 GB in one collection, and both the tree and grid views handled it comfortably with memory usage in check. That is the point most database tools fall over at. Whatever you point VisuaLeaf at, NoSQL or SQL, size stops being the question.

For simplicity

A visual query builder for MongoDB and a second one for SQL, both in the same app. Pick a field, an operator and a value and the query is written for you, or describe what you want and the AI assistant drafts it against your real schema. Drop into raw syntax whenever you want the control back.

Why choose VisuaLeaf?

Fast, fully featured, fairly priced — and backed by a team that ships every week and responds within 24 hours.

One of the Fastest MongoDB GUIs

Built for performance from loading to interactions — you never get a laggy experience. Load gigabytes of data in seconds and keep working while others wait for the UI to catch up.

Lower Price

A fraction of what Studio 3T charges. The Community Edition is free forever, and Pro licenses start at $79 for one year of updates. You keep the app forever.

Fully Featured

Everything Studio 3T does, and more. Visual query builder, aggregation pipeline builder, schema designer, GridFS viewer, task manager, chart builder, plus features you won't find anywhere else.

24-Hour Support

Reach out with any question or issue and hear back from a real human within 24 hours, usually much sooner. No ticket queues, no chatbots, no runaround.

Improving Every Week

New features, refinements, and fixes ship every single week. Follow along with the public release notes to see what just landed and what's coming next.

Secure by Design

Your data never leaves your machine. VisuaLeaf runs entirely on your computer with zero telemetry of your database contents. Full privacy, full peace of mind.

Not Just MongoDB

Connect to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, and SQLite from the same app. When the project in front of you is relational instead of document, you don't need a second tool or a second license.

Native on Every Platform

macOS on both Intel and Apple Silicon, Windows, and Linux as .deb or .rpm. A real desktop app on each one, with the same features everywhere — no second-class port.

Frequently asked questions

MongoDB, SQL or both: quick answers about what VisuaLeaf does and what it costs.

What is VisuaLeaf?

VisuaLeaf is a desktop database GUI for MongoDB and SQL databases. One app connects to MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, SQL Server, Oracle, Redis and 30+ more, with a visual query builder, schema diagrams, a MongoDB shell and SQL editor, and charts and dashboards, on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Which databases does VisuaLeaf support?

Document databases such as MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB and Amazon DocumentDB; relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle and SQLite; Redis; and analytical engines such as ClickHouse, DuckDB and Snowflake. The full list is on the databases page.

Is VisuaLeaf free?

Yes. The Community Edition is free and includes all SQL features plus core MongoDB management, with a 14-day trial of the Pro features and no credit card required. Paid plans start at $79 as a one-time purchase that includes a year of updates.

Can I build queries without writing code?

Yes. The visual query builder works for both MongoDB and SQL databases: pick fields, add filters and sorting, and VisuaLeaf writes the query for you. For MongoDB there is also a visual aggregation pipeline builder that previews the documents after each stage.

Can I query MongoDB with SQL?

Yes. SQL Mode lets you write SELECT queries against MongoDB collections and shows the MongoDB query or aggregation pipeline they turn into, so you can work in SQL and learn the MongoDB syntax as you go.

Is VisuaLeaf an alternative to MongoDB Compass, Studio 3T or DBeaver?

Yes. Compared with MongoDB Compass, it adds a visual query builder, SQL Mode, charts and dashboards, and support for SQL databases. Compared with Studio 3T, it is a one-time purchase instead of an annual subscription. Compared with DBeaver, it gives MongoDB and SQL databases the same visual tools in one app.

Does VisuaLeaf work on Windows, macOS and Linux?

Yes. VisuaLeaf has native desktop apps for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (.deb and .rpm), with the same features on all three.
